There are Metro-North stations in both White Plains and North White Plains and an express train will get you into Grand Central Station in 35 minutes. The White Plains station had a $95 million dollar renovation completed in 2021 and offers new state of the art amenities such as Wi-fi connectivity, USB chargers on the benches, digital screens, upgraded ticketing machines and new ADA compliant elevators.
White Plains makes commuting to NYC super convenient but many large corporations are also located throughout the city. Heineken, Danone, Bunge, IBM and Texaco are just some of the big name companies that call White Plains home.
White Plains Hospital has had several expansions over the years and is part of the Montefiore Health Care System. Colleges/Universities in White Plains include Pace Law School, Berkeley College, The College of Westchester and a Mercy College Campus.

Downtown White Plains is very walkable and hosts some great events throughout the year including a seasonal Farmers Market, Outdoor Summer concerts, Octoberfest, Jazzfest, Cinco de Mayo celebration, Winter Holiday market and a New Years Eve Ball Drop.
Dubbed a “mini-Manhattan” you can catch a show at the White Plains performing Arts Center, a movie at the Cinema, Paint and sip at Muse Paint Bar or try your luck at conquering a puzzle at the local escape room.
The restaurant scene is a vibrant and eclectic mix. You can enjoy upscale dining at famed restaurants like Mulino’s who serves up award winning Northern Italian Cuisine in an elegant- hidden setting, or pop into the newest edition beneath the Ritz Residences- Red Horse by David Burke an upscale American steak house with an Asian flare.
Happy hour is alive and well on Mamaroneck Avenue, where you’ll find classic Irish pubs like Brazen Fox and Ron Black’s Beer Hall. If you are in the mood for acoustic music and a rooftop bar, drop in to Freebird Kitchen. Enjoy a glass of wine and delicious small plates al fresco at Lilly’s. Right off of the “the Ave” you will stumble upon The Blind Pig of Westchester, a dark intimate saloon with a Speak Easy vibe serving up signature cocktails and charcuterie platters. In the mood for Mexican- look no further than Salsa Picante! This festive authentic Mexican restaurant offers amazing margaritas and a roof top dining experience that houses fun igloos.
Where does Westchester shop…You guessed it! White Plains is a premiere shopping destination for the Metropolitan NY region. The Westchester is a high end mall who’s stores include Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Burberry, Tiffany & Co and Gucci. Next to the Westchester Mall, the Source at White Plains houses a high end furniture store, Whole Foods and The Cheesecake Factory. Stroll across the street to a large free standing Bloomingdale’s with a café and ample parking. If boutiques are more your speed, hit Mamaroneck Avenue for clothing and jewelry boutiques.
When you are done shopping head over to Saxon Woods, perfect on warm summer days to take a swim in the outdoor pool, hit a round of mini golf or take a hike on one of their trails. If biking is more your speed, take advantage of the Bronx River Parkway which closes to vehicles and dedicates Sunday mornings to bicyclists.
